Brunch is one of those things that sounds simple until you are trying to decide where to go. Whether you are looking for a casual neighborhood cafe or want something a little different, having a go to list of the best brunch in and around Portland makes it easier. Here are 10 spots I'd send a friend to.

South Store Café 

• One of those places you probably would not find unless someone told you about it. Think good pastries, quiches, sandwiches, and a drink menu focused on Oregon made options. Worth the drive out Scholls Ferry Road.
• Vibe: Quiet, rural, no rush
• Hillsboro | Tue–Fri from 9am–2pm, Sat–Sun from 9am–3pm

Fat Milo's

• Family-owned spot doing all-day breakfast the right way. This is the kind of place you go when you are actually hungry. Big portions, classic breakfast plates, solid biscuits and gravy,  and bourbon French toast. The kind of menu where you know you are leaving full every time.
• Vibe: Busy, casual, straightforward
• Sherwood + Portland | Daily from 8am–3pm

Babica Hen

• Scratch kitchen brunch with farm-fresh eggs, housemade sausage, great waffles, and a Bloody Mary bar. Gets busy on weekends so reservations are a good idea.
• Vibe: Neighborhood favorite, nothing fancy
• Lake Oswego + Beaverton | Tue–Sun from 8am–2pm

Tin Shed Garden Café

• Been on Alberta Street since 2002. Dog friendly with an actual dog menu, a covered patio, and a self-serve coffee bar. Good American comfort food with local ingredients.
• Vibe: Casual, dog friendly, very Portland
• NE Portland | Mon–Fri from 8am–2pm, Sat–Sun from 7am–3pm

Canard

• From the team behind Le Pigeon. The menu is a little wild in the best way. Duck stack pancakes, shrimp toast Benedicts, steam burgers, and a great wine list.
• Vibe: Fun, a little over the top, worth it
• Portland + Oregon City | Mon–Fri from 8am–Midnight , Sat–Sun from 9am–Midnight

Grits N Gravy

• One of the only spots in Portland doing Southern breakfast seriously. Chicken fried steak, shrimp and grits, biscuits, four kinds of gravy, and great music.
• Vibe: No frills, good food, great energy
• SW Portland | Daily from 7am–3pm 

G Love

• Vegetable-forward New American brunch from Chef Garrett Benedict. Creative small plates, great cocktails, and a nice outdoor patio. 
• Vibe: Casual but put together, reservations recommended
• NW Portland  | Sat–Sun from 9am–2pm

Dolly Olive

• Italian and Southern Mediterranean brunch downtown. Housemade pastries, fresh pastas, veggie-forward dishes, and a nice space.
• Vibe: Casual yet a little more special than your average brunch spot without being stuffy
• Downtown Portland | Sat–Sun from 10am–3pm

Broder

• Scandinavian brunch spot with multiple locations. Danish pancakes with lingonberry jam, trout hash, meatballs, and Swedish coffee. Multiple metro locations plus a great excuse to drive to Hood River. Dog friendly outdoor seating.
• Vibe: Lively, casual, consistent
• Portland + Hood River + Astoria | Daily from 8am–3pm

Epif

• 100% Vegan. A good option if you want something plant based that still feels like a full meal.  Benedicts with housemade hollandaise and sausage, pancakes, full bar, wine, and mocktails. Reopened with a new concept in late 2025 and worth checking out even if you're not vegan.
• Vibe: Welcoming, laid-back, different in a good way
• NE Portland | Fri + Mon from 10am–2pm, Sat–Sun from 9am–2pm
